These photographs were made during the week of California's vernal equinox in 2017. The state had just recovered from a prolonged five year drought. Above average rainfall occurred throughout the state, resulting in a wildflower bloom in proportions not seen in decades. Shown here are wildflower images from the Carrizo Plain, the Antelope Valley Poppy Reserve, and Anza-Borrego Desert State Park.
